Detection Image Detection method details

Name:

QT-TAX-SPS primer f/SPS primer r

Description:

Quantitative real-time PCR (TaqMan) method for detection of the rice sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) gene (ISO21570 Amd1)

Comment:

Target is the endogenous sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) gene from Oryza sativa.

BLAST analysis against GenBank (February 2024) shows two mismatches between the sequence of the forward primer and 12 of the 14 listed rice sequences (including the rice reference genome Nipponbare). First analyses performed by WFSR indicated that an adaptation of the forward primer sequence leads to an increased sensitivity in the detection of several rice varieties.
