APHIS USDA
Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, United Stated Department of Agriculture. Petitions for Determination of Nonregulated Status.
APHIS USDA biotechnology permit and notification
APHIS has increased its data-managing capability and is bringing this functionality in-house to increase government efficiency, and enhance the user’s experience. The data, which were previously also available on the APHIS website but only in a downloadable spreadsheet format, will now be presented both as a downloadable spreadsheet and in a user-friendly searchable format, similar to what was offered on the ISB site, but will include all regulated activities under permit and notification as well as APHIS-issued Courtesy permits. With the new tool, users will be able to search data by institution, article, action, type, status, state, genotype, and phenotype, as well as by a global search field. APHIS will continue to improve the site by providing improved search functions and visual representations of data in the near future.
Authorized under Directive 2001/18/EC
Deliberate Release and Placing on the EU Market of GMOs - GMO Register Notifications authorized under Directive 2001/18/EC - GMO Part C
Biosafety Clearing-House (BCH)
The Biosafety Clearing-House (BCH) is a mechanism set up by the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to facilitate the exchange of information on Living Modified Organisms (LMOs) and assist the Parties to better comply with their obligations under the Protocol. Global access to a variety of scientific, technical, environmental, legal and capacity building information is provided in all 6 of the UN languages.
CropLife International Detection Methods Database
This database is maintained by CropLife International, a global federation of the plant biotechnology industry, and contains both DNA- and protein-based methods. The detection methods available have been developed and validated by the technology providers for their own proprietary technologies and products. Not-for-profit laboratories have free access to the methods, whereas laboratories that undertake “fee-for-service” testing must request a license to access the methods.
Deliberate (experimental GMO) Releases
List of SNIFs submitted to the Member State's Competent Authorities under Directive 2001/18/EC (after 17 October 2002) Deliberate Release into the environment of plants GMOs for any other purposes than placing on the market (experimental releases)
EFSA Register of Questions
EMM MedISys GMO
Information on GMOs retrieved from 4000 dedicated sites on the internet. Updated every 10 minutes, 24 hours per day.
EU Register of authorised GMOs
This search engine covers the Community register of GM food and feed (Regulation (EC) 1829/2003) and the GM products withdrawn from the market.
EU-RL GMFF
The core tasks of the EU-RL GMFF are the scientific assessment and validation of detection methods for GM Food and Feed as part of the EU authorisation procedure and the coordination of the National Reference Laboratories for GMO in the 27 Member States. The EU-RL GMFF is supported by ENGL, the European Network of GMO Laboratories, and hosted by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. The EU-RL GMFF operates according to a quality management system certified and accredited according to ISO 17025 and ISO 17043.
Europe Media Monitor - Newsbrief
The public web application NewsBrief shows the hottest topics discussed during the last few minutes and hours across multiple news sources from around the world in 60 languages. Updated every ten minutes, the site groups related news, shows timelines and displays the biggest stories first.
EU-SAGE
EU-SAGE is a network representing plants scientists at 134 European plant science institutes and societies that have joined forces to provide information about genome editing and promote the development of European and EU member state policies that enable the use of genome editing for sustainable agriculture and food production.
FAO GM Foods Platform
FAO GM Foods Platform is a simple online platform to share information on safety assessment of foods derived from recombinant-DNA plants authorized in accordance with the Codex Plant Guideline, entitled “Guideline for the conduct of food safety assessment of foods derived from recombinant-DNA plants (CAC/GL 45-2003, annex III adopted in 2008)". This Platform also facilitates the effective utilization of food safety assessment in situations of Low Level Presence (LLP) of r-DNA plant materials in food.
FEDA Food Enzyme Database
Food Enzyme Database (FEDA) is a web-application database hosting and structuring publicly available information related to food enzymes in one location. Data is collected from the public parts of the submitted FE dossiers, the EFSA portals, published scientific opinions, the NCBI databases (genomes and taxonomy), EC inventory and IUBMB (International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) nomenclature. It involves a browser integrated user graphical interface that allows the user to access, manage and search the data in a friendly way.
GenBit GM crops database
Database of genetically engineered argicultural crops (including genetic elements of the constructs) approved worldwide is supported by GenBit. The database includes also information on authorisation status of genetically modified crops in the Russian Federation and in the European Union (lines being under withdrawal process are not included).
GMOMETHODS (EURL GMFF, JRC)
EU Database of Reference Methods for GMO Analysis
ISAAA GM Approval Database
ISAAA presents an easy-to-use database of biotech/GM crop approvals for public use. It features the biotech/GM crop events that have been approved for commercialization/planting and importation (food and feed). Entries in the database represent the majority of the GM crop events approved worldwide, based on publicly available English (and translatable) decision documents of each approving country, Biosafety Clearing House of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and peer-reviewed scholarly articles. In using the database, please note that the approval of GM crops vary from country to country but all regulations are based on the same objective that each GM crop is safe for human or animal health and the environment. The database also includes discontinued events for recording purposes.
JRC - Certified Reference Materials (CRM)
JRC (European Commission, Joint Research Centre Directorate F - Health and Food) develops, produces and distributes Certified Reference Materials (CRMs). These CRMs are used for the calibration or quality control of genetically modified organism (GMO) quantification measurements, typically carried out by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). Numerous sets of reference materials for different GM events in maize, soybean, potato, sugar beet, and cotton are offered to testing and control laboratories world-wide. Research activities are on-going to develop further GMO CRMs, including CRMs for new plant species. The majority of CRMs intended for the quantification of GMOs are powders produced from seeds or vegetative tissue. These so-called matrix materials are mixtures of non-GMO materials with GMO materials, which have gravimetrically been certified for their mass fraction (expressed in g/kg) of a specific GMO event. The available concentrations differ for the individual GMO event (and the set of CRM) and range from nominal 0 g/kg to 1000 g/kg.
OECD BioTrack product database
RASFF portal
The RASFF is a tool enabling the quick and effective exchange of information between Member States and the Commission when risks to human and animal health are detected in the food and feed chain. All Members of the RASFF (EU-27, European Commission, EFSA as well as Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland as partial member) have a round-the clock service to ensure that urgent notifications are sent, received and responded to in the shortest time possible. Thanks to RASFF, many food safety risks have been averted before they could harm consumers.
