Description:	Maize event T25 was developed by polyethylene glycol (PEG)-mediated transformation the maize genotype HE/89. T25 expresses the enzyme phosphinothricin acetyltransferase (PAT), encoded by the pat gene from Streptomyces viridochromogenes codon-optimised for expression in plants. Expression of PAT confers tolerance to glufosinate-based herbicides. The insert contains a single copy of the P35S-pat-T35S expression cassette. The stability of the inserted DNA and associated trait was confirmed over several generations and a Mendelian inheritance pattern was demonstrated.
