This authorisation expired. However, the GMO and products thereof remain authorised for their specific uses in the EU, since an application on renewal of the authorisation was submitted in time (EFSA-GMO-RX-023).
This application was for the renewal of the authorisation of
a) food produced from genetically modified soybean GTS 40-3-2, including food additives,
b) feed materials and feed additives produced from genetically modified soybean GTS 40-3-2. These products were placed on the market before the entry into force of Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003.
Genetically modified soybean GTS 40-3-2 were authorised for placing on the marked based on Commission Decision 96/281/EC of 3 April 1996 on according to Council Directive 90/220/EEC. This authorisation comprised
a) food containing or consisiting of this GMO
b) feed containing or consisting of this GMO and
c) products other than food and feed containing or consisting of this GMO with the exception of cultivation.
